What is Ryan’s Film School?
Ryan’s Film School is me, Ryan, a multi-disciplined filmmaker, offering a range of workshops and after-school clubs designed to give students from 5 to 25 the tools they need to succeed in the world of film, TV, and video production.
Each workshop is a project-based learning experience, where students take on real roles in real film projects, gaining practical skills and confidence. I do everything I can to ensure that every student feels inspired, empowered, and ready to take on the world of filmmaking.

The Ethos Behind Ryan’s Film School
Ryan’s Film School isn’t just about learning how to point a camera; it’s about developing essential life skills, exploring the wide array of jobs and opportunities in the industry, and finding and following your passion.
My approach is hands-on, creative, and deeply rooted in my own experiences in the industry. I believe in the power of trial and error as a learning tool and always know how to use humour to help students navigate the challenges of filmmaking.
In my lessons and workshops, there is a big focus on developing not just the technical skills, but the soft skills of communication, and the life skills necessary to build and navigate a career in the creative industries.
With me, students don’t just learn how to make films—they learn how to tell their own stories, embrace their creativity, and explore the world of opportunities around them.
Meet Ryan - Your Guide to Video Excellence
Hi, I’m Ryan the driving force behind Ryan's Film School, and I’m bringing over a decade of experience in the film, TV and video industries to the classroom.
As a self-shooting director, producer, and editor, I’ve worked across a diverse range of projects, from award-winning short films to corporate videos, commercials, and music videos. I’ve also worked as a runner, an AD, floor manager, camera operator, sound recordist, 3D and 2D animator, and production manager, safe to say, I’ve been around.
I love the wide range of opportunities I’ve been able to explore working in this industry so I’ve started Ryan’s Film School as a way to inspire young people to find their passions and give them the skills to pursue them.
